Sri Lanka Social Security Board says that the country will face a grave social problem in another 28 years as the number of dependents is rapidly on the rise.
Sri Lanka Social Security Board Chairperson Sumana Ariyadasa said that the child population as well as the population of the aged are currently increasing in an alarming rate.
The Chairperson said by 2041, there is a tendency of 4 persons out of every 5 persons in Sri Lanka to become dependents.
