Nandasena takes oath as the new Provincial Education Minister
K. H. Nandasena took oath as the new education minister of the North Central Province before the governor of the North Central Province, Karunarathne Diwulgane replacing Peshala Jayarathne who previously held the post.
Prior to being sworn in as the minister of education for the North Central Province, K. H. Nandasena functioned as the minister for food, cooperative and industries of the North Central Province.
Speaking to our news team, a senior member of the office of the governor of the North Central Province stated that the appointment was made based on a recommendation by the Chief Minister of the Province S. M. Ranjith.
However, a decision has been taken to appoint Peshala Jayarathne as the food, cooperative and industries minister of the province.
The senior member of the office of the governor of the North Central Province further stated that Peshala Jayarathne was issued a letter today to be present to be sworn in.
Our news team contacted the chief minister of the North Central Province S. M. Ranjith to inquire regarding the changing of provincial ministerial posts.
In response to our inquiry the Chief Minister stated that this was a cordial exchange.
However, various issues arose regarding the question papers issued to students in the North Central Province in the recent past.
The provincial educational ministry had recently issued a lottery which was to be sold by the students, although it was subsequently cancelled based on an order by the Chief Minister.
