Treasure hunter arrested in Anuradhapura

Police have arrested a man allegedly excavating treasures in Hurulunika-wewa area at Galen-bindunu-wewa in Anuradhapura yesterday.


According to the Police Media Spokesperson’s office, the man was arrested through a raid conducted by the officers of Anuradhapura Archeological Security Unit.


He was handed over with excavation equipment to the Galenbindunuwewa Police.


The suspect will be produced before the Anuradhapura magistrate today.
