Video: A bundle of serviettes imprinted with a Buddha statue discovered in a shrine in the Navagamuwa Paththini Devalaya

A stack of paper serviettes containing pictures insulting to Lord Buddha were found on an offering table in the shrine room of the Nawagamuwa Paththini Dewalaya.


Speaking to our news team the chief custodian of the dewalaya Maralanda Bandara stated that an individual cleaning the offering table had found the stack of paper serviettes.


The paper serviettes manufactured by a firm in Germany named IHR Ideal Home Range contains 4 images insulting Lord Buddha.


On several previous occasions such items were found in Sri Lanka.


Former Advisor of the Ministry of Buddhasasana and Religious Affairs Ashoka Menikgoda who is a collector of such items stated that the laws in Sri Lanka regarding such incidents are not sufficient.
