23 officers attached to the Police Organized Crimes Investigation Division have been transferred with immediate effect.

 

Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that these officers were transferred on the recommendations made by Head of the Police Organized Crimes Investigation Division DIG I.M. Karunarathna 2 weeks ago.

 

The Police Media Spokesman also said that these officers were transferred on the criterion of the long service at a single police division.

 

The Police Organized Crimes Investigation Division raided a big time gambling center located near the Town Hall, Colombo 7 and arrested 42 gamblers in Monday night.

 

Several officers who participated in this raid have also been among the transferred policemen, and our news team asked the Media Spokesman whether there is any connection between the police transfers and the gambling raid on Monday.

23 police officers transferred.

The Police Media Spokesman SS Ajith Rohana stated that 23 officers of the Organized Crimes Investigation Division will be transferred with immediate effect upon the orders given by the IGP.

 

Police Media Spokesman stated that the transfers were given due to the fact that the officers had served in the division for a long period of time.
