Three Sri Lankan tea researchers forced to leave Tamil Nadu

Three Sri Lankan researchers participating in a training program in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu were forced to leave the state in fear of protests against them.


The three Sri Lankan nationals were researchers of the Tea Board and they were part of an eight-member foreign delegation participating in a three-month international training programme on tea manufacturing and quality maintenance.


The police have removed the three Sri Lankan nationals including a woman, who were staying in a hotel for the last two months, and sent them to Bangalore in the early hours of today.
