Challenge from Siyambalanduwa to Minister Sumedha

Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Sumedha D Jayasena says that the Chairman of the Pradeshiya Sabha of Siyambalanduwa and a businessman in Colombo are responsible for the illegal mining of sand in Heda Oya.


The Minister directly levelled allegations at the Chairman of the Pradeshiya Sabha Saman Warnakulasuriya regarding the scam.


However, the Chairman of the PS denied these allegations stating that if he is guilty he would resign immediately and if not the Minister herself should resign.

Curfew reimposed from 2.00pm will continue until further notice.
