Air rifles, swords and daggers from a house in Mirihana

Police who inspected a two storied house on the Wiwekarama Road in Embuldeniya on the Old Kesbewa Road in Mirihana Nugegoda found a large stock of weapons and ammunitions, including swords and knives.

Accordingly, the Police found 16 air rifles, 56 plastic pistols, 242 swords, 95 daggers, 60 knives, 10 binoculars and several tins filled with ammunitions from a house.


The house belonged to a Muslim national and his wife was a British national.


Police media spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana stated that the weapons were found while conducting an awareness programme to identify and eradicate dengue breeding grounds in and around the Mirihana area.
