50 school children locked in a room - Police initiate investigations

Police initiated investigations on an incident where 50 school children of Kandana North Batagama St. Anthony Vidyalaya were locked in a room.


The investigations started after a father of one of the victims complained the incident to the Kandana police yesterday.


According to the particular father’s complaint, the principal allegedly locked the students, claiming that a sufficient number of students did not attend a school ceremony which was held with the participation of a Pradeshiya Sabha member last Saturday.


The father also told our news team that the police obtained his statement today with regard to his complaint.
