The top level foreign representatives who are in the country for the CHOGM have met among themselves at the External Affairs Ministry in Colombo today.


Later, External Affairs Minister Professor G.L. Peries told a media briefing held at the BMICH that the attention was drawn to several factors during the foreign delegates meeting.


Speaking to the media, Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharma said that it is high time the Commonwealth heard the says of the small States.


In the meantime, journalists questioned about the countries that are not participating in the CHOGM in Colombo.


Answering the media, Secretary General Sharma said that it’s their own question whether to participate in the summit.


He further said that total membership of 53 countries did not participate in the previous summits as well.
