President Mahinda Rajapaksa today extended an invitation to the Tamil Diaspora and other LTTE sympathizers to visit the country.

 

Addressing a media briefing held in connection with the CHOGM at the BMICH this morning, the President said that he is ready to have a dialogue with the Tamil Diaspora and other LTTE sympathizers.

 

Expressing his views the President further said that his policy today is to win the Tamil Diaspora and LTTE sympathizers.

 

President Rajapaksa also said that Sri Lanka, as a frontline member of the Commonwealth is ready to strengthen the Commonwealth values.

 

He said that he has nothing to hide, and pointed out that a strong legal system exists in the country.

 

The President also said that legal action will be taken against any individual, if he or she is found guilty of any crime.

President also emphasised that his policy is to win over the LTTE sympathisers and invited them to come to Sri Lanka for a discussion and see to themselves the development of Sri lanka.
