Heads of state continues to arrive in the country.

Several Heads of States arrived in the country this morning to participate in the Commonwealth Summit to be inaugurated tomorrow.


Among the leaders who arrived this morning are Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete and Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat.


The Commonwealth Media Office stated that the Crown Prince Charles is scheduled to arrive in the island this evening.


In addition, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, and Prime Ministers of Malaysia and Pakistan are scheduled to arrive in the country this evening.


Meanwhile, the police headquarters states that several roads will be closed from time to time today due to the arrival of several state leaders who will be taking part in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

Accordingly, traffic along the Colombo – Katunayaka expressway, Baseline road, Bauddhaloka mawatha, the road from Bambalapitiya junction to the Old parliament along the Galle road, Lotus road, and Chiththampalam A. Gardiner road will be restricted.
