The van owner who drove Channel 4 television crew including its director Callum Macrae to Colombo has lodged a complaint with Slave Island police today.

Police sent back the 6 Channel 4 journalists to Colombo after their journey to Vavuniya was barred by demonstrators in Anuradhapura.

The cab driver S.K. Sanjeeva de Silva said that he dropped the Channel 4 crew including Macrae in a hotel in Dambulla to spend the night and later he drove them Colombo this morning.

However Sanjeewa said that when he asked the film crew to pay for the journey, they have refused to pay 30,000 rupees, and asked the driver to charge the fee from the Dambulla hotel or from the police.

When contacted, Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that investigations will be carried out on the particular complaint against the Channel 4 crew.

Meanwhile another demonstration was held against the Channel 4 television crew in Vavuniya town today and traffic was blocked on the A-9 road due to the demonstration.
