Vice President of Nigeria Mohammed Namadi Sambo met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Center this morning.

 

President Rajapaksa has told Nigerian Vice President Namadi Sambo that Sri Lanka has given priority to strengthen the ties with African countries.

 

The President’s Media Unit stated that the Nigerian Vice President has congratulated President Rajapaksa for enabling Sri Lanka to host the CHOGM 2013.

 

Meanwhile Governor General of Tuvalu Ikoba Italeli also met President Mahinda Rajapaksa today.

 

The Tuvalu Governor has told that he was happy to be present in Sri Lanka and participate in the CHOGM.

 

Meanwhile President Rajapaksa told a media briefing in Colombo today that his policy was to win over the Tamil Diaspora and LTTE sympathizers.

 

He extended an invitation to the Tamil Diaspora and other LTTE sympathizers to visit the country and experience what is really going on in the country.

  

Addressing the media briefing, Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharma said that all member countries should unite themselves and work together to solve the problems faced by the Commonwealth nations.
