Tactical mistake by India to boycott CHOGM

Friday, 15 November 2013 - 20:13

The Diplomatic website termed the CHOGM boycott by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as ‘strategically by-mistake’.

The website also pointed out that the decision to boycott the summit has overlooked the national interest while giving priority to petty internal gains.

The website quoted a recent speech made by Indian Premier as saying that the destiny of the Indian sub continent was depend on the cooperation and coordination among the countries of the region.

The Diplomatic website stated that therefore the Indian Prime Minister has undervalued his own statement by boycotting the Colombo CHOGM in fear of the Tamil Nadu influence.

Meanwhile BBC reported today that the 22nd CHOGM was opened in a colorful ceremony in Colombo and termed it as an effort to blow up the country’s image internationally.
