Student with heroin arrested in a Polgahawela school

Police arrested a year-13 student who possessed 3 packets of heroin during a search in a school in Polgahawela today.

After interrogation, an outside person who allegedly provided drugs to the student was also arrested along with 2 packets of heroin.

Later, the student was produced before the Polgahawela Magistrate and ordered to keep in the custody of a Children’s Home until the 26th of this month.

Accordingly, the student was kept in the custody of the Vijitha Children’s Home at Galkanda in Kurunegala.

Police said that the infiltration of narcotics into the school system was a matter of concern.

Police Media Spokesman requested parents to closely observe the behavior of their children especially about the pattern of spending money.
