Update : The motive for Akmeemana double murder suspected to be a land dispute

The police suspect the reason for the double homicide in Akmeemana - Galle to be a land dispute.  


A senior police officer told our news team that a special police unit has been dispatched by SSP to investigate the crime.


The bodies of the victims who were murdered this morning have been discovered at Hal-gas-mulla area in Akmeemana – Galle.


The victims were husband and wife aged 50 and 48 respectively.


The initial investigations revealed that the deaths were caused by a blow from a sharp object.  


It has also been revealed that he has been involved in a number of land disputes.


The police stated that they have uncovered more information regarding the case from some of his contacts.

The police recovered 2 bodies of a husband and wife from a house in Galle – Akmeemana.


Police media spokesmen SSP Ajith Rohana stated that the husband is 50 years old and the wife is 48 years old.
