4 elephants have died after been caught in an illegal electric fence in Hadilla in Gonnoruwa in Hambantota.

The elephants were caught in an electric fence that was illegally erected in a private land.

A year old calf was also among them.

Director General of Wildlife H D Rathnayaka stated that investigations are underway.

The elephants were caught in an electric fence that was illegally erected in a private land.

The Wildlife Department has commenced an investigation in to the incident.
