4 inmates escape from Mahara prison

The Prisons Department stated that the Police has commenced a special operation to arrest inmates who fled from the Mahara Prison.

4 inmates had escaped last evening.

Mahara Prison officials said the prisoners serving sentences ranging from 7 to 20 years were from Polonnaruwa, Marawila, Dankotuwa and Seeduwa areas.

A special police team has been deployed to arrest them.
