A UN special rapporteur to visit Sri lanka next week.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry states that a special representative of the United Nations will be visiting the country next week.

Ministry Secretary Karunathilaka Amunugama stated that Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons Dr. Chaloka Beyani will be arriving in the island on the 2nd of December.

The special rapporteur will be visiting the North and is scheduled to meet External affairs Minister Professor G L Peris and several other Ministers.
