A Haldamulla principal accused of student abuse.

The Haldummulla Tamil Mahaavidyaalaya principal arrested over the suspicion of abusing 13 school students is scheduled to be produced before the Bandarawela court today.

The Haputaley police arrested this principal yesterday on a tip-off the Child Protection Authority received day-before-yesterday.

The police said that the principal since 2012 abused these boys studying in grades seven and eight in this school.

The 58-year old principal is said to be a resident at Bandarawela.

The police media spokesman’s office said that the 13 abused school students were scheduled to be subjected to the attention of the Diyathalaawa Base Hospital for a court forensic test
