Cooperative and Internal Trade Minister Johnston Fernando says that the Government will not allow the increase of prices of essential goods during the festive season.

Participating in the inauguration of the new Kurunegala – Pol-attana-pitiya CWE branch yesterday the Minister said that some persons were saying that the price of essential goods would increase after the budget.

The Minister also said that there was no truth in this.

On this occasion Cooperative and Internal Trade Minister Johnston Fernando said that the relevant companies would not be allowed to increase price of milk powder suddenly.
