True co-operation among countries is necessary for the war against terrorism; Defence Secretary

Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse says that genuine cooperation among nations is needed to fight terrorism in a systematic and coordinated manner.

He also accused some countries of being selective in their approach.

Defense Secretary addressing the international maritime security conference in Galle said Fight against terrorism is a global task and nations should support each other’s efforts whole heartedly.

Indian Naval chief DK Joshi also attended the Galle Dialogue maritime security conference.

Outlining the measures taken by the Sri Lankan government to ensure maritime security in the Indian Ocean, he said Sri lanka had created a maritime division based on a public private partnership.
