Imaduwa Pradeshiya Sabha pays tribute to Murali

Members of the Imaduwa Pradeshiya Sabha passed a resolution today to pay tribute to former ace spinner Muttiah Muralitharan for expressing his bold views on Sri Lanka affairs to Channel 4 television.

Seven out of 9 members of the Imaduwa Pradeshiya Sabha represent the UPFA. However the 2 UNP members have not taken any position with regard to the today’s resolution on Muralidaran.

Earlier, the Chavakachcheri Pradeshiya Sabha passed a resolution against Muttiah Muralidaran for his interview with Channel 4.
During the interview with Channel 4 Muttiah Muralitharan stated that the British Premier David Cameron had been given a wrong impression regarding the Tamil populace.
