Update :Video: NFF suspects a link between Sridharan's statement and Delft murder - CID gone to Delft Island

The National Freedom Front suspects that there is a connection between the statement made by S. Sridharan of the Tamil National Alliance and the murder of the EPDP controlled Delft Pradeshiya Sabha chairman Daniel Rexeon.

However the police stated that a team of officers from the CID have already been dispatched to Delft in Jaffna to conduct investigations.

The body of the deceased PS chairman was discovered two days ago at his residence in Punkuduthivu.

The Judicial Medical Officer who examined the body determined that the cause of death was due to gunshot wounds.

However, former parliamentarian and spokesperson of the NFF Mohammed Musammil stated that suspicion has arisen that there may be a connection between the statement made in parliament by TNA parliamentarian S. Sridharan and the murder.

Delft Chairman's death, a murder - Revelations made 

Police media spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana says that it has been revealed that the Delft Divisional Council Chairman’s sudden death is a murder.

The body of EPDP administered Delft Divisional Council Chairman Daniel Rexian was recovered day – before – yesterday from his house at Punkuduteevu in Jaffna.

The postmortem was held at the Jaffna hospital yesterday.

Accordingly the conclusion of the forensic officer was that the death had occurred due to injuries caused by a shooting on the head with a firearm.

The police media spokesman said further that the IGP had handed over the investigation about this murder to the CID.

Delft chairman dies suddenly.

E.P.D.P. - administered Jaffna Delft Divisional Council Chairman Taaniyan Rexian passed away suddenly last afternoon.

E.P.D.P. media spokesman M. Stalin told our news team that the chairman’s demise was a sudden death.

However the police said that details about his death could be disclosed after the post-mortem held today.
