Japan provides food aid to support WFP's School Meals Program in the North

Japan+provides+food+aid+to+support+WFP%27s+School+Meals+Program+in+the+North
The Government of Japan has decided to provide food grant assistance to the value of 282 million rupees to the Government of Sri Lanka through the World Food Program to support the ongoing School Meals Program in the Northern Province.

The Ministry of Economic Development will oversee the distribution of the food assistance.

There was much concern about the nutrition levels of the resettled IDPs, especially children in the North, and Japan provided grant assistance amounting to 180 million rupees in previous year to support a nutrition program.
