Wind speed will increase 70 kilo metres per hour over the sea, 300 kilo metres off from Jaffna to Trincomalee.

The Department of Meteorology in a weather communiqué stated that the sea in this area could be rough and dangerous for sea farers.

The communiqué also stated that thunder showers could experience throughout the island this night.

Cyclone Lehar which centred in an area of 750 kilo metres off Mullaitivu at the direction of North East is now moving towards North West.

Wind speed in the coastal areas between Trincomalee and Jaffna could increase due to this inclement weather.
