Video: UNP searching for house hold that is not pawned

Today is the 6th day of the 2nd reading of the budget for 2014.

Parliament convened today at 9.30 am under the patronage of speaker Chamal Rajapakse.

UNP MP Kabir Hashim also expressed his views in parliament.

MP Hashim stated that it is impossible to find a house hold that has not pawned jewelry.

MP Kabir Hashim during his speech also accused that certain islands in Kalpitiya have been sold to foreigners.

In reply Minister Lakshman Yapa said that MP Kabeer Hashim has misled the chambers by stating that the government has sold 13 island in Kalpitiya to foreigners.

He also stated that it is regrettable that MP Hashim made such false statement in Parliament.
