Cannot criticise the leadership council; a proposal to UNP convention

The UNP is preparing to include a rule in its constitution in such a manner that it will not be possible to criticize its leadership council.

It has been proposed to submit the relevant resolution and have it passed at the party national convention due to be held on 21st next month.

While the proposal about this was made at the party working committee meeting held yesterday, on this occasion party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe had requested that the proposal be submitted at the party convention.

UNP media spokesman MP Gayantha Karunathilake expressing his views to our news team about this and other decisions taken yesterday at the working committee meeting stated as follows.
