The second reading of the budget was passed in parliament with a majority of 99 votes today. 154 members voted for the budget while 55 voted against it. The UNP, TNA and Democratic National Alliance voted against the budget.

The debate over the second reading of the budget ended today and the committee level debate will start on the 2nd of December.

2nd reading of the budget passed

The second reading for the budget for 2014 was passed in parliament a short while ago with a majority of 99 votes.

154 votes were for the budget while 55 votes were against.
