Mirigama budget also defeated for the second time - Chairman lost his post

The 2014 budget of the UPFA controlled Meerigama Pradeshiya Sabha was defeated for a 2nd time with a majority of 21 votes.

Only the chairman of the Pradeshiya Sabha Ananda Premachandra Ranaweera voted for the proposed budget.

The Pradeshiya Sabha, is comprised of 23 members which include 12 government representatives and 11 opposition members.

However, the member representing the JVP was absent from the chambers today.

The proposed 2014 budget for the Meerigama Pradeshiya Sabha was defeated by a majority of 19 votes the first time when it was presented for the first time on the 20th of this month.
