A person arrested for attempting to smuggle gold out of the country

The customs have arrested a person heading to India at Katunayake airport this morning for smuggling gold hidden in his rectum.

He was arrested at 4.05am while attempting to smuggle four gold biscuits with a value estimated at one million nine hundred and twenty five thousand rupees.

The gold biscuits have been confiscated and the suspect have been bailed out for a fine of two hundred and fifty thousand rupees.
