Eleven suspects of J' Pura student murder case acquitted

Eleven suspects out of 22 of the Sri Jayewardenepura student murder case were acquitted when the case was taken before Colombo High Court Judge Kumuduni Wickramasinghe today.

These suspects were acquitted after prosecuting lawyer Thusith Mudalige informed the Court that that he would not continue the case any further.

O.V. Samantha, a student attached to the Management Faculty of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura was murdered in an incident where he re-acted against ragging university students in 2002.

Other 8 students were also seriously injured in the incident.
