Media Centre for national security dissolved.

The Defence Ministry has decided to dissolve the Media Centre for National Security.

Presidential Media spokesman Mohaan Samaranaayaka said that the Media Centre for National Security had been dissolved with effect from 1st November 2013.

The spokesman said that there was no special reason for the dissolution.

The National Security Media Centre functions under the defence Ministry.

Presidential Media spokesman Mohan Samaranaayaka also said further that the dissolution of the Media Centre was a Ministry decision.

The Director General of the Media Centre for National Security which disseminated war-related information to the media during the war was Lakshman Hulugalle.
