Update : The country's landscape cannot be divided, says Government
The Law and Peace, State Defence and Development Ministry expenditure heads were passed in parliament with amendments by a majority of 117 votes yesterday.

While these expenditure heads received 126 votes in favour, nine votes were against them.
TNA parliamentary group leader R. Sambandan said that the Law and Peace, State Defence and Development Ministry expenditure heads should be put to vote.
Accordingly voting was held for the two Ministries separately.
The UNP and DNA MPs were not present in the parliamentary chamber at the time of voting.
Ajith Kumara who acts independently and TNA MPs voted against the expenditure heads.
Economic Development and Investment Promotion Ministry expenditure heads will be taken up for debate today.
Minister of mass media Keheliya Rabukwalla addressing parliament said that the country cannot be divided geographically, although there are political divisions.
