Dispute between vocalist Saman de Silva and Provincial Minister Bindu Weerasinghe settled amicably

The incident between the Southern Provincial Agricultural Minister Bindu Weerasinghe and singer Saman De Silva in which the minister had assaulted the singer was settled amicably today.

Singer Saman De Silva had lodged a complaint claiming that the minister had assaulted him during a musical show that was being held at the Welikada prison grounds.

Both parties arrived at the Borella police based on summons issued by the police with regard to the complaint.

The police media unit stated that both parties settled their differences amicably before Western Province DIG Anura Senanayaka.

However, Colombo Additional Magistrate Jaiki De Alwis had ordered all suspects that had assaulted singer Saman De Silva be arrested after taking into consideration the facts presented by the Borella Police subsequent to the complaint being lodged.
