12,500 kilograms of powdered milk seized from hoarders

The Special Raid Unit of the Consumer Affairs Authority was able to confiscate 12,500 kilograms of milk powder hidden in a warehouse in Welisara today.

A senior officer of the CAA stated that this cache of milk powder was discovered inside a warehouse belonging to a leading milk powder firm.

5 milk powder firms have requested the CAA to increase the price of milk powder.

Due to this currently there is a shortage of milk powder in the market.

Speaking to our news team in this regard recently Director General of the CAA J. M. A. Douglas stated that island wide raids are being carried out to nab vendors and others who are hoarding milk powder.
