School for prison inmates under 35 years

The Prisons Department is currently taking measures to establish a school up to Advanced Level, to educate the inmates aged below 35 years.

The school will be established in March next year in Watareka area.

Commissioner of Prisons and Media spokesman Gamini Kulatunga stated that they hope to admit 150 inmates to the school during the 1st phase.
