The government says that if the TNA wishes to support the government it should first participate in the parliamentary select committee.

TNA Parliamentarian M A Sumanthiran stated in parliament yesterday that the TNA is prepared to support the government relating to accountability.

However, it is in reply to this statement that Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva expressed the previous sentiments.

The Minister stated that the TNA merely making statements in parliament promising support is of no use.

Speaking in Parliament, TNA MP M A Sumanthiran stated that the government needs the support of the TNA in the process of reconciliation and accountability and that the government should pay attention to the concerns raised by the international community.
