New Delhi's long-serving Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit lost her seat today to the leader of a new anti-corruption party.

Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Common People's Party, took an unassailable lead, winning 39 thousand 883 votes against 16 thousand 780 for Dikshit, according to the electoral commission.

Dikshit, who has resigned from her post after 15 years as chief minister, had earlier conceded that Congress had lost control of Delhi's 70-seat assembly, saying she would "respect" the outcome.
