Video: Ududumbara budget also defeated – UNP controlled Seethawaka-pura Mayor meets the President

The UPFA controlled Udu Dumbara Pradeshiya Sabha budget for 2014 was also defeated today.

Udu Dumbara PS consists of 9 members and 5 out of them are represented by the UPFA members.

Udu Dumbara PS, UPFA former Chairman joined the 3 UNP members and the independent member to vote against the budget today.

Meanwhile the budget of the Anuradhapura Municipal Council was passed today.

However Council Opposition Leader Indika Aruna Kumara said the vote was held before the 2 UNP members reached the meeting.

However UNP Urban Councilor Dr. Nandana Pushpakumara has participated in the vote taking.

He told our news team that the Mayor did not get his vote during the vote today.

Meanwhile Anuradhapura Urban Council Mayor Susil Premalal Pinto has met President Mahinda Rajapaksa this morning.

The Council budget is to present for the second time in the next few days.

Pesident’s Media Unit stated that the Mayor has urged the President to get him the support of the UPFA Council members to continue the functions of the Council.

The President has told the Mayor that he would pay his attention to the Mayor’s request.
