Two more budgets of UPFA controlled Pradeshiya Sabhas defeated today

Budgets presented by several Pradeshiya Sabhas for the year 2014 were defeated today as well.

The UPFA controlled Alawwa Pradeshiya Sabha budget was defeated with 3 majority votes for the second time. 4 members voted for the budget while 7 members voted against it.

The Alawwa Pradeshiya Sabha consists of 9 UPFA and 4 UNP members.

Besides the Chairman, other UPFA members present today voted against the budget while one vote was rejected.

The focal point of the incident during the vote was that 3 UNP members voted for the budget while one UNP member was absent during the vote taking.

Budgets for 2014 presented by UPFA controlled Bope and Poddala Pradeshiya Sabhas were also defeated.

Meanwhile the Raththota Pradeshiya Sabha budget for 2014 was passed unanimously and the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha budget was passed with 7 majority votes.
