The Consumer Affairs Authority officials raided a food manufacturing factory in Slave Island and seized 1000 kilograms of dyed powdered chili, 500 kilograms of dyed powdered turmeric and 2000 liters of sauce not suitable for human consumption.

According to the preliminary investigation, a variety of gum used in the production of chewing gum has been used to manufacture this tomato sauce.

Adulterated chili powder and sauce seized in Slave Island

The Consumer Affairs Authority officials raided a food manufacturing factory in Slave Island and seized 1000 kilograms of dyed chili powder and 2000 liters of sauce not suitable for human consumption.

According to the preliminary investigation, this sauce was mixed with an unknown variety of gum.
