Video: Special Jury for the murder case of Kotakethana

Colombo High Court Judge Kumudini Wickramasinghe today ordered the case regarding the murder of a mother and daughter in the Kahawatta – Kotakethana area be heard before a special jury during its hearing today.

This decision was made after Colombo High Court Judge Kumudini Wickramasinghe considered the request made by the attorneys at law representing the accused and she decreed that the case be taken up for hearing on the 6th of February next year before a special jury.

The children of the suspects were also called up as witnesses during the hearing and Colombo High Court Judge Kumudini Wickramasinghe requested that the pictures of the children not be published on print or electronic media.

52 year old Nayana Nilmini and 18 year old Kavindya Chathurangi who lived in the Kahawatta – Kotakethana region were stabbed to death on the 31st of January in 2012.

Lokugam-hewage Dharshana alias Raju and his wife Rasika Chandani have been accused of the murder.
