UN admits its failure in war in Sri lanka

UN+admits+its+failure+in+war+in+Sri+lanka
The United Nations restated yesterday that the Organisation failed its mission at the last phase of the war in Sri Lanka.

During a daily media briefing held at its Headquarters in New York, UN Deputy General Secretary Yaan Eliazon said the failure reflects both on the Security Council as well as the UN member countries.

He further said that he accept the internal reports prepared on the behavior of the UN during its mission in Sri Lanka.
