JHU demands the arrest of Mangala Samaraweera
JHU Leader Omalpe Sobhitha Thera made a special statement in parliament today about Mangala Samaraweera’s claim that there are MPs in house who maintain connections to drug dealings.
The Thera said that the MP should divulge the names of such parliamentarians if any or else Samaraweera should be arrested and questioned.
UNP MP Mangala Samaraweera made the statement during the committee level budget debate in parliament last Wednesday.
JHU Leader Omalpe Sobhitha Thera expressed his views about MP Samaraweera’s statement.
Venerable thero stated that if MP Mangala Samaraweera does not revel who the culprits are he should be arrested and interrogated.
Heroin and ethanol are the talk of the town these days in the country.
A secretary of the Prime Minister’s private staff was also accused recently for releasing a letter asking duty waive for a container of heroin seized by the Customs.
At the same time, allegations were also made against Cooperative and Internal Trade Minister Johnston Fernando and MP Arundika Fernando in connection with an attempt to smuggle a stock of ethanol.
