Delegation to India following invitation from Jayalalitha to solve Indo-Sri Lanka fishermen's issue

A special discussion is scheduled to be held in India at the end of the month to find solutions to the Indo – Sri Lanka fishermens issue.

Following an invitation from a special envoy of Tamilnadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha Jeyaram, officials of the Fisheries Ministry and representatives of fisheries organizations will take part in the discussions.

Deputy Minister of Fisheries Sarath Kumara Gunarathna stated that concerns will be raised on the violation of the maritime boundary of Sri Lanka by Indian fishermen.

However, National Organizer of the All Island Fishermens Federation Rathna Gamage stated that they had not been officially informed regarding such a discussion.
