Colombo District MP R. Duminda Silva says that Colombo city flats will be increased up to 20 thousand by next year under Mahinda Chinthana program.

The MP said so while participating at a public awareness programme held recently at the Mihindusenpura flats in Dematagoda.

The programme was held under the patronage of MP R. Duminda Silva and Minister Wimal Weerawansa.

About 500 families which had previously lived in shanties in six areas of Colombo city and are currently living in the Mihindusenpura flats also participated in the programme.

Participating in the occasion Colombo District MP R. Duminda Silva briefed the people as follows:
 

MP R Dumindha Silva stated that he is ready to provide strength to the housing programme initiated under the Mahinda Chinthanaya programme by Defense secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse under the guidance of President Mahinda Rajapakse.

Minister Wimal Weerawansa expressing his views at this occasion stated that as MP R Dumindha Silva explained 20 flats will be constructed within the next year to provide a better living standard for the people.

At the end of the programme MP R. Duminda Silva also had a cordial discussion with the public.
