UNP, JVP and SLFP trade unions up against Minister Thondaman

The strike launched by Milko employees demanding the removal of the factory management has completed 5 days today.

Meanwhile a fast unto death started by one of the workers in front of the Milko Headquarters in Narahenpita has completed 3 days today.

At the same time, a joint media briefing was held in Colombo by SLFP, UNP and JVP unionists this morning.

Addressing journalists, SLFP Union President Padmasiri Silva said that the Milko management is taking various steps to disrupt the worker strike.

He also made some allegations against Livestock Development Minister Arumugam Thondaman as well. 

Milko management increased the prices of its products such as Yoghurt and powdered milk recently, and Padmasiri Silva expressed his views about the Milko price hike as well.
