A senior SLFP spokesman said that ‘show cause’ letters will be sent to its members within the next few days who voted against their budgets in local government institutions.

The members are expected to reply to the show cause letter within 14 days since its date of receipt.

Meanwhile the talk of the town is that Southern and Western Provincial Councils will be dissolved either on the 28th of this month or postponed to the second week of January.

However SLFP internal sources stated that discussions are still going on before a final decision is taken in this regard.

Two Senior Ministers also confirmed the discussions to postpone the PC dissolving date.
